The short version: Corkscrew is free, open-source software provided as-is under the GPL-3.0 license. Use it responsibly, respect third-party services, and don't blame us if something breaks.

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, or using Corkscrew, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the software.

2. License

Corkscrew is licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 (GPL-3.0-or-later). You are free to use, modify, and distribute Corkscrew in accordance with the GPL-3.0 license terms. The full license text is included in the source repository.

3. No Warranty

Corkscrew is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. This includes but is not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. The authors are not liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from the use of the software.

Modding games carries inherent risks, including but not limited to save corruption, game instability, and performance issues. You are responsible for backing up your game files and save data.

Corkscrew may check for updates via the GitHub Releases API. Updates are optional and can be disabled in Settings. We may release updates that change functionality, fix bugs, or address security issues. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of any changes.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the authors and contributors of Corkscrew shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, game saves, mod configurations, or system stability, arising from the use or inability to use the software.

We may update these terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. Since Corkscrew is open source, changes are visible in the commit history.
